Climate Advocacy & Collective Action for Business

Join B Lab U.S. & Canada, B Local NYC, ASBN, and New York Renews to get in-depth on how your company can act collectively to advance climate policy in New York!

B Lab recently released new standards for B Corp Certification that require B Corps to engage in collective action, as part of the Government Affairs & Collective Action (GACA) topic in the B Lab Standards V2. B Lab is committed to offering as many opportunities for companies to engage in collective action, particularly in public policy advocacy. To do this in New York, we are deepening our partnership with New York Renews, a coalition of nearly 400 climate, labor, youth, and community groups that fights for clean energy, good jobs, and a healthier, more affordable New York.

This event will feature action-oriented networking, a workshop on how to implement the Government Affairs & Collective Action standard at your company, an explanation of how policymaking works in New York state, and a discussion of climate policy priorities as we head into 2027. 

There will be snacks and coffee at the start of the event and then beverages, as provided by NYU at the end of the event. Content for the event will run from 2-4pm and then we will be able to hang around and network until 5pm. 

Who should attend: Representatives of companies that are interested in environmental and climate advocacy, and especially those who are keen to take action on climate policy New York. Both B Corps and non-B Corp companies are welcome; the content will be relevant to companies interested in meeting the requirements to certify on B Lab’s Standards V2, but also those generally interested in principles on how to engage in Collective Action.
